The college experience is an opportunity for a student to grow as a person. The experience gives students the academic knowledge necessary to perform in a job after school. However, there is much more to the college experience than scholastics. The college experience is what you make of it. Joining a fraternity is one way to get the most out of your college experience. Purdue University has one of the largest Greek communities in the nation. Below are some of the many benefits to joining the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity at Purdue and living in the fraternity house.

Academic
  • We recognize and believe that Academics are priority #1 of college and emphasize that point, however it is an individual effort that is necessary for success regardless

  • Phi Kappa Tau: Member GPA ranked in top 20 out of 42 fraternities this fall & spring

  • Members living in house regularly get GPAs above 3.5 and there is always a 4.0 or two, even in engineering

Community Service/Philanthropy
  • Our house runs 2 community service events each year including Special Olympics and a Christmas party for underprivileged kids
  • Our house raises money each year through fundraisers for our National Philanthropy, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camps (camps for underprivileged and seriously ill children)
  • We have donated $2000 each of the past 2 years
  • House participates in various other community service events/projects through other Greek houses and Purdue University each year
Other
  • Living in house creates a closer brotherhood experience with closer friendships
  • Members living in house are more involved in good aspects of the fraternity experience
  • The fraternity experience serves as a great way to network for reasons such as a job search, internship search, etc.
  • This fraternity has been at Purdue for 85+ years and is one of the oldest chapters of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity
  • 85% of the Supreme Court Justice since 1800 were in a Fraternity/Sorority
  • 76% of the U.S. Congress persons were in a Fraternity/Sorority
  • All but two U.S. Presidents since 1825 were in a Fraternity/Sorority

  • Phi Kappa Tau is a non-hazing fraternity and does not participate in any such harmful/illegal activities
  • Phi Kappa Tau is building a brand new state of the art multimillion dollar house to be lived in the Fall of 2007.
